The UAE government has introduced the “Work Bundle” initiative to streamline employee residency processes and work permits for private sector companies. Initially, this program will be rolled out in Dubai, with plans to extend it to other emirates over time.
This initiative is part of the “Zero Bureaucracy” program, which seeks to simplify government procedures and eliminate unnecessary requirements, enhancing efficiency, quality and flexibility across the UAE.
A Unified Platform
The “Work Bundle” is designed to benefit the business community by simplifying and speeding up processes for private sector companies. It provides a unified platform to handle various employment-related services, including renewals, cancellations, medical examinations and fingerprinting.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between federal and local government entities, ensuring that clients can complete their transactions with minimal steps through available digital platforms. Key entities involved include:
The project also receives support from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Digital Dubai, which offers the necessary digital infrastructure and services to facilitate seamless data exchange between relevant entities.
Advancing Digital Transformation
The “Work Bundle” is a significant milestone in the UAE’s digital transformation efforts, enhancing the country’s competitiveness in global business ease-of-management indicators for private sector companies.
The initiative aims to simplify procedures, reduce effort and time, and achieve significant reductions in annual administrative burdens: cutting 25 million procedures, 12.5 million visits and 62.5 million working days annually.
